EVT Video Surveillance Management System Protects Israeli Border

EVT, a developer of networked video management and recording software, recently announced that ElbitSec, a subsidiary of Elbit group, has deployed the Vertex Video management and NVR software suite for its border protection project around the city of Jerusalem. The installation marks the first defense deployment of EVT’s software.

Elbit Security selected EVT as part of a large-scale CCTV surveillance project supplied to Israel Defense Force. The video management system has been deployed to allow the Israeli Defense Force to monitor, control and manage the gates along the border. The system enables soldiers in a remote control center to manage and monitor the movement of civilians requesting to cross the borders using advanced video surveillance tools and perimeter protection systems.

The selected Vertex software suit combines unique surveillance tools and multi analytic integrations to easily monitor and manage numerous events in real time.

The system’s intuitive user interface utilizes several unique features such as EVT’s 2.5D Live Video Maps which improve site perspective and the operator’s navigation capabilities, and Image Content Navigation (ICN) that provides security operators with the means to continuously tail a moving object within a site of numerous cameras.

EVT’s Vertex intuitive operation and advanced features contribute to reduction in response time to security incidents, fast and simple event resolution in real time and in post event investigations, efficient monitoring by fewer operators and fast training to highly rotating monitoring staff and improving overall surveillance efficiency while reducing operational costs.

"As we looked to address a variety of detection and security requirements, EVT was uniquely positioned to deliver a highly reliable, scalable solution that not only met Israel Defense Force multifaceted current needs but was also positioned to support future requirements utilizing existing hardware," said Eli Amar, president and founder of D.O.G LTD. "EVT offers a comprehensive IP-based management solution with unique surveillance tools combining multi analytics support, integrated with all standard storage mediums and offering comprehensive alarm management."

“The Israeli Defense Force and ElbitSec posses’ unmatched knowledge and experience in tailoring solutions for the protection of such challenging environments,” said Oren Feldmann, vice president of marketing and sales with EVT. “We’re extremely proud that EVT’s solution was selected following a thorough assessment of a variety of solutions available in the market”.

  • The Stage is Set

The security industry spans the entire globe, with manufacturers, developers and suppliers on every continent (well, almost—sorry, Antarctica). That means when regulations pop up in one area, they often have a ripple effect that impacts the entire supply chain. Recent data privacy regulations like GDPR in Europe and CPRA in California made waves when they first went into effect, forcing businesses to change the way they approach data collection and storage to continue operating in those markets. Even highly specific regulations like the U.S.’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) can have international reverberations – and this growing volume of legislation has continued to affect global supply chains in a variety of different ways.
