ESX To Feature Monitoring Boot Camp

The Electronic Security Expo (ESX) will feature a new, cutting-edge half-day education program, entitled the ESX Next Generation Monitoring Boot Camp, on Monday, June 22 from 1-5 p.m. at the Baltimore Convention Center.

Sponsored by SureView Systems, the boot camp will provide a comprehensive overview of the opportunities and requirements for launching next generation monitoring and remote management services.

Topics include:

  • The scope of services (both security and non-security) that can be provided.
  • Key technical system design requirements (both at the premises and central station) for implementing specific services.
  • Central station staffing and training requirements.
  • Legal and contractual matters.
  • How to package and sell the services and retain business.
  • Company/account valuation implications for next generation monitoring.
  • How to get started in developing a plan for next generation monitoring.

Taught by industry-leading implementers and applications experts from the supplier community, this session is designed to take attendees to the cutting edge of the monitoring business and educate them on how they can begin participating in this new and exciting market.

Implementer presenters include:

  • Jerry Cordasco, vice president of operations, G4S Monitoring and Data Center -- Burlington, Mass.
  • Dave Hood, vice president and general manager, First Alarm -- Aptos, Calif.
  • Kenny Savoie, director of operations, Acadian On Watch -- Lafayette, La.

“Times and technologies change, providing informed security companies lucrative opportunities to meet the changing needs of their users,” said George De Marco, ESX chairman. “Many security professionals have heard about the applications surrounding video and access control monitoring and perhaps, even, managed services. However, until now, no one has really provided the complete package of information and advice needed to evaluate the opportunity fully and plan effectively for launch. The ESX Next Generation Monitoring Boot Camp answers that need.”

“We are thrilled to be sponsoring the boot camp and working with ESX to pull together comprehensive content and some of the most successful early adopters in the industry as presenters,” said Matt Krebs, executive vice president for SureView Systems.

Registration for the boot camp is $95 for individuals who also purchase a conference pass for the ESX seminar program or $295 for stand-alone registrations. SureView is also sponsoring a cocktail mixer at the conclusion of the boot camp to facilitate exchange among the attendees and presenters.
