ConnectionsIT To Develop IP-Based Access Control, Video Surveillance Solution For Napa Valley School

ConnectionsIT, a systems integrator and IP technology company, will be working with the Napa Valley Unified School District to develop a new IP-based access control and video surveillance solution for its new American Canyon High School, scheduled to open in the fall of 2010.

The community of American Canyon is served by the Napa Valley Unified School District, which consists of 32 schools located on 28 sites serving approximately 17,000 K-12 students. The District's geographic boundaries include approximately 3,200 American Canyon K-12 students (2005/06 enrollment). The new school was vote and approved by the board of trustees.

Under the Napa Valley Unified School District (NVUSD) standards, security cameras will be placed at all entrances, parking lots, quads and areas not readily observed from normal staff and faculty locations. An intrusion and access control security solution will be includes in the security system, as well as monitored lighting on all paths, and other outdoor areas.

ConnectionsIT was selected because of its experience in working on large scale security projects and for its special knowledge of IP video surveillance solutions and access control integration. ConnectionsIT has partnered with Genetec to provide its Synergis and Omnicast products for the system integration and management software of the video surveillance system. It also has partnered with IQinVision to provide the 60 plus high definition cameras and Pivot3 to provide the storage needs.

"Napa Valley School District was very specific about their security and video surveillance needs and wanted a solution that was coast effective, reliable and that provided for future growth'" said Brody Carlson, President of ConnectionsIT. "We have a long history of working with Genetec, IQinVision and (who). We trust their products and know they stand behind their systems."
