TimeSight Systems Announces Support Of Basler IP Cameras

TimeSight Systems, provider of Video Lifecycle Management (VLM), recently announced that its line of award-winning Video Surveillance Appliances now offer support for high-performance, compact Basler IP cameras. As a result of the integration, customers are able to gain a new level of efficiency with megapixel-quality information, longer retention and lower costs in a smaller storage footprint.

TimeSight Systems offers the only video surveillance product that utilizes VLM -- the practice of continuously reducing the cost of storing surveillance data over time. This technology allows users to create a rules-based prioritization of video based on its value and ability to protect against risk without sacrificing security or compliance.

Currently, all eight of Basler's IP camera models with resolutions ranging from VGA to 2 megapixels, are supported by TimeSight’s appliances. The combined solution allows customers to effectively manage any resolution or any encoding of digitized network video streams while dramatically decreasing the amount of storage normally required for quality video surveillance data.

“TimeSight’s VLM platform with Basler’s compact cameras adds up to smarter video surveillance,” said Paul Robinson, director of Marketing for TimeSight Systems. “The ability to capture incredibly dense resolution in a small storage footprint results in much better video data and actionable information.”

TimeSight’s exclusive Motion Optimized Recording (MORe) applies specific resolution, frame rate, and retention policies to motion and non-motion video, enabling users to store all video footage on less storage than riskier “Record On Motion” only techniques. In addition, TimeSight’s new intelligent ACe encoding feature converts video streams from legacy analog cameras into fully digitized streams, allowing users with a significant investment in analog CCTV systems to migrate into a fully functional IP based video network.

“Basler’s compact IP cameras differentiate themselves through excellent image quality and versatility,” said Hardy Mehl, director of IP Business for Basler Vision Technologies. “Customers can now also benefit from the reduction of storage expenses and retention times through TimeSight’s industry-changing technology.”
