Single Sign-On Solution Helps Simplify Access To Records For Healthcare Organization

Sentillion recently announced that IASIS Healthcare, a owner and operator of acute care hospitals, has implemented its enterprise single sign-on (SSO) solution to provide caregivers with improved access to the health system’s electronic health record (EHR) system.

Seven of IASIS’ 15 acute care facilities are currently live with SSO. The enterprise-wide roll-out is continuing across the hospital network that spans six states including, Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, Nevada, Texas and Utah.

IASIS caregivers are using SSO to access a variety of clinical applications. Since implementing SSO, IASIS’ IT department has reported a 60 percent reduction in help desk calls related to password resets. IASIS expects this percentage to increase as it expands the deployment to all hospital personnel.

IASIS selected Sentillion in response to its caregivers’ frustrations over having to remember numerous complex passwords. Through the implementation of SSO, IASIS caregivers now use one set of credentials to automatically log on to all the applications they are authorized to view. This simplified process reduces administrative steps and allows for more time to provide quality patient care. “Our caregivers’ number one complaint centered on having to remember multiple passwords,” said Brian Loflin, chief information officer of IASIS Healthcare. “As an organization committed to leveraging technology to transform the care delivery process, we knew that implementing a single sign-on solution would not only streamline current processes, but also help us successfully roll out new technologies in the future. Our SSO implementation delivers real value to our users and has improved their EHR experience, both of which will help with future information system investments.” IASIS expects SSO to be fully deployed in all of its facilities by year-end, after which it
