Company officials are understandably excited about the news of acquiring analytics manufacturer ioimage earlier this year, but the bigger news of the acquisition is that DVTel will now bring the solution to market in Mexico and Latin America.
At Expo Securidad, DVTel officials also announced a software as a service partnership with Telmex, a communications giant in Mexico, as well as having a presence throughout Latin America.
This partnership will deploy, for the first time, a hosted, managed video surveillance solution from DVTel. Hosted means that the data will be managed in a data center by Telmex. Now, Telmex will be able to leverage the complete benefits of a network VMS system hosted off-site but configured by engineers. Telmex plans to resell the solution to its customers in verticals, such as retailers and banks.
“Setting up a network VMS and ensuring systems integrator technicians are properly trained can be challenging,” said Paul Smith, executive vice president at DVTel. “With out HMVS, our partners can manage and provision the system for each customer centrally. A small staff can be trained in system configuration, and they get to do this work every day, since they are doing it centrally for many different customer sites.”
Smith said this reduces the number of technicians that will require training and it puts the system into the hands of engineers who do this every day, not once or twice a month. This will improve proficiency and productivity.
