A Night To Remember
Working in the security industry has changed me for the better. Being exposed to such state-of-the-art, game-changing technology has enlightened me, meeting such passionate and intelligent people have inspired me and being embraced by the industry has humbled me. And mostly, being welcomed by the Dark Restaurant Society has made me feel extremely privileged to work in such a fascinating industry with such esteemed colleagues.
Tuesday's Dark Restaurant Society dinner was held in the FDR Suite in The Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas. In June 1936, President Franklin Roosevelt was in Dallas for the Texas Centennial Expo and unveiled a statue of General Robert E. Lee at Lee Park, which is just down the road from the Mansion. Because of his disability, he required accommodations with an elevator. The Rosewood Mansion was the only residence in the uptown Dallas area that had one and welcomed President Roosevelt with luxury accommodations for one night. That room is now used as an event space designed for smaller parties. Beautiful French doors provide access to a small balcony and a terrace that overlooks the landscaped courtyard. Needless to say the posh location, the warm autumn weather, the delectable food, stimulating conversation and entertaining friends made it an evening to remember.
On the show floor, Samsung Techwin America highlighted its broad line of megapixel, IP-based and analog video systems, as well as introduced several new video products and a new access control product line.
Samsung's new access control offerings features a wide range of technologies, including fingerprint, proximity/smart cards and keypads.
New video product introductions include megapixel cameras, IP-based network cameras, analog cameras and DVR/NVRs.
Samsung's booth highlights how the unified Samsung platform integrates video and access control solutions from Samsung with technology from other leading providers to deliver new levels of intelligent operation, especially in the government, corporate, transportation, education and healthcare markets.
