Matrix Systems Provides High-Tech Access Control to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

Matrix Systems, a Miamisburg, Ohio-based turnkey access control and security solutions provider, has donated access control equipment and installation services for the Jan. 2, 2011, episode of the Emmy-award winning television show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, scheduled for 8 p.m. EST on ABC.

The hour-long episode features a new two-story house built by hundreds of volunteers and vendors for the Grommesh family of Moorhead, Minn. Matrix Systems donated and installed some of the same high-tech security equipment it provides its commercial customers – which include Miami International Airport; The Cleveland Clinic; and international steel producer ArcelorMittal Steel Co.’s in East Chicago, Ind., facility – only on a much smaller scale.

“Our security business is solely in commercial markets such as government, transportation, healthcare, education, commercial and industrial facilities, but we were honored to provide this needy family a residential adaptation of our services,” said James Young, president of Matrix Systems.

On Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, which is now in its eighth season, contractors renovate and replace the homes of deserving families that have fallen victim to illness or natural disasters. Design team leader Ty Pennington provides a unique take on the American dream, while viewers follow the many twists and turns of special, themed episodes.

Matrix System’s products, which include access control, biometrics, video management, wireless technology, credential production, and visitor management solutions, are built using open architecture standards and designed to grow with existing security investments.
