Tyco Showcases Inventory Intelligence Solutions
Tyco Retail Solutions, a global provider of retail performance and security solutions, will be demonstrating its inventory intelligence solution suite that helps retailers achieve omni-channel and store strategies by driving significant improvements in inventory accuracy, control, and retail execution.
The solutions will be featured at the 2011 NRF Big Show and EXPO on Jan. 10-11, at the Jacob K Javits Convention Center in New York City.
The demonstrations feature "a day in the life" of inventory in a store environment, from shipping and receiving, to put away and shelf replenishment, through point of sale and beyond. Visitors will see firsthand the level of control and insights offered by the solution, and understand how Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) solutions can coexist, are complementary and offer incremental value.
Recognizing the mission critical nature of inventory visibility, innovative first movers are mobilizing for wide-scale deployment, while a growing number of high profile retailers have gone public with their intentions to pilot or deploy a solution to gain control of their inventory at the individual item level.
"Inventory visibility and accuracy are fundamental to the successful execution of our merchandising and multi-channel strategy," said Stacey Shulman, vice president of Technology for American Apparel. "It impacts production, shelf availability, store productivity, customer satisfaction and, ultimately, sales."
The Tyco Retail Solutions inventory intelligence suite includes: inventory visibility software and hardware platform to deliver item-level visibility and control over inventory from source to distribution center and throughout the store, and optimize efficiencies by focusing associates on the highest value tasks with actionable intelligence; and dual technology tags which leverage retailer EAS investments with complementary EAS and RFID technologies in a common, small footprint hard tag.
"We didn't rollout EAS to control shrinkage, we did it to better control inventory and to reinforce internally the value of inventory as the asset it is," added Shulman, "It's a part of our overall inventory control strategy, and when combined with inventory visibility, helps us assure that every point in our supply chain is running at peak efficiency."
"We recognize this is a journey, not an event, and as such we continue to make the necessary investments to ensure our customers in our market leading EAS customer install base can continue to utilize the investments they've made while offering them a complementary path forward to inventory visibility with RFID and other technologies," said Scott Clements, president of Tyco Retail Solutions. "Our solutions can be deployed as RFID only, RFID and EAS together, or 'RFID ready' EAS, delivering value today while protecting a retailer's investment into the future."
