Monfort Electronics Merges with Bruce Dawson & Associates

Two of the industry’s leading manufacturer’s rep organizations have merged to form Monfort Electronics/BDA, a new entity with even greater industry presence and strength than that of the two individual companies.

To create this new company, Bruce Dawson and Associates (BDA) of Louisville, Ky., have merged into Monfort Electronics Marketing of Indianapolis, Ind., effective January 1, 2011. The new organization will cover a territory of six states with 11 employees located in five branch office locations.

“Sharing our experience and the costs of a sales force will enable us to increase our growth and improve our operational efficiencies,” said Mark Clemens, CEO of the newly formed Monfort Electronics/BDA. “There is tremendous potential to leverage the success of each of the companies and strengthen the overall business.”

In the new organization, Bruce Dawson is named as vice president and is responsible for product management of those lines that were part of the former BDA’s offering. In addition, Dawson is charged with training and assisting the Monfort Electronics team with field sales support on the added product categories. Before forming BDA in 1970, Dawson worked with a systems contractor and also served in the military as a combat medic in Vietnam.

Vince Veneziale will remain in his current role of Monfort Electronics’ President in the new organization. Both he and Clemens will assist Dawson in merging the sales and operations of the respective businesses into a single entity.

“Customers of both companies will be offered a wider range of equipment, skills and services,” said Dawson. “Joining forces with Monfort will allow us to take service and support to the next level.”

Industry veteran Robert Lankford will also join the new company as of February 1, servicing and supporting the Monfort/BDA accounts throughout western Michigan and northern Indiana. Robert brings several years experience in project management,
pre-sales engineering and end-user training, along with a strong IT/networking background.

Detailed contact and background information for the entire Monfort Electronics/BDA team can be found in the “staff” section of the company’s website.

Monfort Electronics/BDA will service and support accounts in the Great Lakes region, including Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and western Pennsylvania. The newly formed company represents manufacturers’ products from both the security industry and the professional audio/video industry, including Panasonic, SightLogix, IDenticard, Winsted, Talk-a-Phone, Kaba Access Control, ComNet and Sanyo Projectors.
