Webroot Hires Former IBM Executive Jeff Santelices

Webroot has appointed Jeff Santelices as vice president of worldwide strategic alliances. An executive with more than 15 years of leadership experience in the high-tech industry, Santelices will lead a team focused on scaling Webroot's growth through relationships with strategic technology partners.

"Partnerships are an integral part of Webroot's strategy for expanding our cloud security services," said Don Beck, senior vice president of worldwide field operations at Webroot. "Jeff's expertise will be instrumental as we continue to build strategic alliances that optimize and extend our global distribution channels. Under his leadership, our business development teams are poised to drive aggressive enterprise success that further solidifies Webroot's position as a leader in cloud security."

Santelices brings to Webroot a proven track record of executing successful corporate development, sales and channel enablement programs for global technology companies including IBM, Corio and Oracle. Most recently, he served as executive vice president of sales and marketing at TrackVia, the leading cloud-driven database application platform for business users, where his customer acquisition efforts led to a twofold increase in bookings.

Before TrackVia, Santelices was vice president of worldwide sales, business development, services and support at Hyperic Inc., the leading, commercial, open-source systems management solution for cloud and Web-based companies (acquired by SpringSource, a division of vmWare, in 2009). With his leadership, Santelices helped drive a substantial increase in annualized subscriptions and renewals through direct sales and OEM channels. Before that, Santelices was vice president of business and corporate development at Corio Inc., one of the first application services providers. At Corio, Santelices oversaw two acquisitions and helped manage the company's sale to IBM in 2005. In addition, Santelices' background includes a role as a financial institutions management consultant for A.T. Kearney, where he managed strategy and business process re-engineering for leading global banks, brokerage firms, and insurance companies including Citicorp and Prudential.

Santelices earned a masters of business administration and a bachelor of arts in economics from Northwestern University. He is based out of Webroot's headquarters in Colorado, where he resides with his wife and newborn twin boys.
