Monitronics Dealer Manager Named to '20 Under 40' List

Travis Miller, senior manager of dealer development at Monitronics International, has been named to Security Systems News’ “20 under 40” Class of 2011.

The fifth annual Security Systems News “20 under 40” awards recognize talented young people who stand out in the security industry. Winners are chosen for demonstrating hard work, ambition, creativity and leadership, qualities that Miller embodies every day.

"There are a lot of issues with quality of work and integrity in the industry," Miller said. "I just would like to leave my mark by being sure I'm leaving a full body of work and being diligent and having a full sense of integrity in all I do."

Miller said today’s security industry provides amazing opportunities for young people, and now is the time for security organizations to recruit younger generations.

"I think there's so much opportunity for young executives here," he says. "I think having more scholarship opportunities and having more of a presence on campuses around the country, more of an awareness, will help."

Prior to joining Monitronics, Miller was director of operations at Stone Security, an authorized dealer for Monitronics. He joined Monitronics in 2008 as national account manager and was responsible for developing and managing customer relationships with Monitronics’ top 30 producing dealers and for setting each account’s overall strategic direction.

Miller’s role as the senior manager of dealer development enables him to support Monitronics dealers. Working with the company’s regional account coordinators, he develops ways to engage and train new dealers, provide them with continuing education, and establish a strong working relationship between Monitronics and each dealer.
