comCables’ Charity Golf Tournament Raises More Than $25,000 for Charities

comCables, a Denver-based low-voltage manufacturer and distributor, raised more than $25,000 for two Denver inner-city youth programs on Thursday, June 16 at its 9th Annual Charity Golf Tournament.

For the ninth consecutive year, comCables underwrote the entire tournament, so 100 percent of the money raised from golfers and sponsors went straight to Here’s Life Inner City Denver and Sun Valley Youth Center.

“We are so grateful for the amount of support we had this year from golfers and sponsors.” said Greg Greenwood, comCables president/CEO. “Our customers, vendors and friends didn’t let the slow economy stop them from being generous, which allowed us to partner together to raise $25,000 for these amazing charities.”

Each year the comCables Charity Golf Tournament grows, and this year the tournament had the most sponsors it has ever had. In addition to the 20 sponsors, there were 96 golfers that paid to play in the tournament to support the charities.

"comCables has been with us for close to 10 years, and we are overwhelmed by the amount of support they’ve given Here’s Life Inner City.” said Dave Jones, executive director at Here’s Life Inner City-Denver. “The money we raise at the golf tournament thanks to comCables, sponsors and golfers allows us to help so many kids in Denver. We couldn’t do what we do without them.”

The tournament was held at Fox Hollow Golf Course in Lakewood, Colo. and was a special day filled with kids passing out popsicles and giving testimonials of how Here’s Life and Sun Valley Youth Center have changed their life.

In addition to its annual golf tournament, comCables does an annual wine tasting fundraiser for Here’s Life Inner City Denver and Sun Valley Youth Center. This year the wine tasting was in April and raised more than $11,000.

“Our mission at comCables is to serve and empower our customers, constituents and communities, so giving to charity is a non-negotiable for us.” Greenwood said. “These two charities are making an amazing impact in the lives of Denver inner-city children, and we feel blessed to get to a small part of it.”

Through June of this year, comCables has donated $36,942 of net profits to charities.
