University Enhances Campus Security with Technology from Verint

Verint Systems Inc., provider of networked video solutions, recently announced that a North American university has completed implementation of the Nextiva IP Video Management solution from Verint Video Intelligence Solutions and is using the technology to help ensure a safe learning and working environment for its students, faculty and staff.

In 2010, the university (whose name cannot be revealed) embarked on a major campus renovation program, investing in state-of-the-art technologies. As part of the modernization initiative, its officials sought a powerful, reliable and highly scalable video security solution to help monitor and safeguard its vast campus.

The university’s requirements included a comprehensive, open-architecture security management solution that combined cutting-edge technology with an advanced storage platform. With a strong reputation for providing higher-education facilities with successful solutions—along with Department of Homeland Security Safety Act Certification—Verint emerged as the ideal partner to meet its needs, resulting in the university’s deployment of the Nextiva IP Video Management platform in April 2011.

“Our Nextiva IP Video Management solution is well-equipped to help secure widely distributed facilities that make up campus-wide environments, providing the actionable intelligence today’s security personnel require,” says Debjit Das, vice president of global marketing, Verint Video Intelligence Solutions.

Leveraging the Nextiva solution, the university is benefiting from a centralized monitoring system that features broad storage of recorded video, along with remote access to live and recorded video across its geographically distributed grounds. With automated system health monitoring and analysis, live and recorded video viewing, policy-based video distribution and versatile investigation management capabilities, Nextiva enables campus officials to meet their security needs today, while offering the flexibility to expand as requirements and policies evolve.
