Chinese Company Partners with LEGIC Identsystems

Beijing’s Pansun Infotech Co. Ltd. is a new license partner of Switzerland-based LEGIC Identsystems Ltd., manufacturer of contactless smart card technology for personal identification. Pansun Infotech, a provider of RFID tags, microprocessor cards, readers, biometric modules and card printers, will draw benefits by integrating LEGIC in its power meter solutions. Additionally, the Chinese manufacturer will produce LEGIC based identification credentials such as company cards with integrated PKI functionalities.

Founded in 2001, Pansun Infotech has recently focused on the development of power meters and appropriate prepaid cards for residential areas. With the LEGIC partnership, Pansun can integrate LEGIC advant technology in its power meter modules as well as in cards for secure personal identification and can benefit from a flexible technology.

“The flexibility of LEGIC advant allows us to integrate the technology in many different applications such as our power meter solutions for business and private environments,” said Simon Gao, general manager of Pansun Infotech. “LEGIC is a well-known technology in China whose benefits are more and more required by our customers. The partnership is a significant step for us to be prepared for future market demands.”

“The latest business development shows that our technology becomes increasingly important and versatile also in Asia. I am convinced that these encouraging emerging application areas will continue and we look forward to a long-lasting and fruitful partnership with Pansun,” said Dr. Otto Eggimann, LEGIC’s vice president of sales and business development.
