WAGO Names 2010 National and Regional Distributors of the Year

WAGO Corp. has named long-time distributors, Heilind Electronics and B.W. Clark Inc. the 2010 National Distributor and Regional Distributors of the Year. The recognition is based on each distributor’s proactive promotion and support of WAGO product and growth.

“These distributors have taken extra steps to ensure adequate product inventory and training customers on new products,” said Peter Penkalski, channel manager at WAGO Corp.

Heilind Electronics has distributed WAGO Interconnect and Electronic Solutions for 20 years; B.W. Clark Inc. has distributed WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM components for 15 years. During this time, the distributors have gone beyond distribution to value-added services such as bin-stocking, kitting and custom assemblies.

“This award represents a culmination of the efforts of many people over many years, and is the fruit of the close partnership forged by our two companies,” said Rick Nemeth, Heilind Electronics’ vice president of sales and marketing. “Heilind is very pleased to receive such recognition from a design and innovation leader like WAGO.”

Each was also commended for management of existing business, creation of new opportunities in mature sectors and collaboration with WAGO on co-branding and supply chain initiatives.

“B.W. Clark Inc. is honored to receive this recognition from WAGO. Our sales and support staff are to be commended and were instrumental in achieving this,” said Barry Clark, president of B.W. Clark Inc. “We look forward to continuing our partnership and providing customers unique solutions with innovative products.”

I have been looking forward to this year’s GSX show in New Orleans, the Cresent City, or if you prefer The Big Easy. It seems like quite a while since we’ve been here. • From Monitors to Mission Control

Security Operations Centers (SOC) were once defined by rows of static monitors, each displaying a single feed with operators quietly watching for issues. That model has become obsolete. Incidents evolve too quickly, data comes from multiple locations, and decisions must be made in seconds—not minutes. Read Now

Hexagon’s Geosystems presents a portable version of its Accur8vision detection system. A rugged all-in-one solution, the A8V MIND (Mobile Intrusion Detection) is designed to provide flexible protection of critical outdoor infrastructure and objects. Hexagon’s Accur8vision is a volumetric detection system that employs LiDAR technology to safeguard entire areas. Whenever it detects movement in a specified zone, it automatically differentiates a threat from a nonthreat, and immediately notifies security staff if necessary. Person detection is carried out within a radius of 80 meters from this device. Connected remotely via a portable computer device, it enables remote surveillance and does not depend on security staff patrolling the area.
