Evergreen Fire & Security Team Receives $697 Million Contract from United States Army

Evergreen Fire & Security, a U.S.-based systems integration company for high-security government and military installations, announced that it has been awarded a $697 million maximum value small business prime contract to provide force protection and early warning capabilities at mobile, temporary and permanent U.S. Army installations around the world.

The contract was awarded by the U.S. Army RDECOM Natick Contracting Division, for the Product Manager - Force Protection Systems (PM-FPS). It is a three year base, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract award with a total maximum dollar value (for both large contractors and small businesses) of $697 million with a $300 million option. The Evergreen Team, along with seven other companies, was awarded the small business portion of the PM-FPS contract.

Under the contract, the Evergreen Team will provide U.S. Army security personnel with integrated security systems designed to significantly reduce the time required to detect, assess, neutralize or mitigate anticipated threats while reducing manpower levels and multiplying existing security forces wherever possible. Systems supplied, installed, integrated and maintained by the Evergreen Team will provide a strong line of defense for all critical assets through electronic intrusion detection, alarm assessment, access control, video surveillance, command, control, communications and display capabilities.

The mission of the PM-FPS is to provide timely, affordable, modular, scalable, supportable and integrated physical security and force protection capabilities to tactical forces, installations and Homeland Defense.

"The Evergreen Team is proud to have been chosen to perform on this Army-wide force protection initiative as part of a select group of highly qualified government contractors,” stated Jonn Forslin, vice president of Evergreen Fire & Security. “Since its founding, Evergreen has specialized in delivering integrated command and control systems for military base defense, life safety and homeland security compliance. Our team is ready to apply its proven experience to create an interoperable security command and control environment that will increase situational awareness, deliver real-time security intelligence and empower base forces across the globe to realize the Army’s ultimate goal of 'See First - Understand First - and Act First.'"

Ask most companies about their future technology plans and the answers will most likely include AI. Then ask how they plan to deploy it, and that is where the responses may start to vary. Every company has unique surveillance requirements that are based on market focus, scale, scope, risk tolerance, geographic area and, of course, budget. Those factors all play a role in deciding how to configure a surveillance system, and how to effectively implement technologies like AI. Read Now

  • The Stage is Set

The security industry spans the entire globe, with manufacturers, developers and suppliers on every continent (well, almost—sorry, Antarctica). That means when regulations pop up in one area, they often have a ripple effect that impacts the entire supply chain. Recent data privacy regulations like GDPR in Europe and CPRA in California made waves when they first went into effect, forcing businesses to change the way they approach data collection and storage to continue operating in those markets. Even highly specific regulations like the U.S.’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) can have international reverberations – and this growing volume of legislation has continued to affect global supply chains in a variety of different ways. Hexagon’s Geosystems presents a portable version of its Accur8vision detection system. A rugged all-in-one solution, the A8V MIND (Mobile Intrusion Detection) is designed to provide flexible protection of critical outdoor infrastructure and objects. Hexagon’s Accur8vision is a volumetric detection system that employs LiDAR technology to safeguard entire areas. Whenever it detects movement in a specified zone, it automatically differentiates a threat from a nonthreat, and immediately notifies security staff if necessary. Person detection is carried out within a radius of 80 meters from this device. Connected remotely via a portable computer device, it enables remote surveillance and does not depend on security staff patrolling the area. 3
