ISC Premier Education Series Features Robust Line-Up of Educational Sessions

The ISC Premier Education Series, a robust line-up of educational sessions, will be presented free on the ISC Solutions show floor. The sessions are open to all badge-holders attending the show, which opens up at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2.

The sessions provide excellent insight and knowledge into today’s most pressing security issues and are geared towards the learning needs of dealers, installers, integrators, specifiers and end-users. 18 free sessions are scheduled on topics such as port protection, protecting large stadiums and venues, PSIM, security for healthcare facilities and residential high-rise buildings, assessing risk for critical infrastructure, CCTV, cloud computing and business-building.

Dealers, Installers and Integrators will find a mix of sessions that cover both business and technology. In fact, this year’s program features a 4-part business-building series covering estimating, creative sales & marketing, and preparing for a business acquisition or divestiture. Included in the business series is “Making Business Sense: Strategies for Surviving and Thriving in a Tough Economy.” The session, taking place on Wednesday, November 2 from 1:45 pm - 2:45 pm, will feature creative and proven ways to grow, expand and ensure the financial stability and desirability of an existing security business.

One session that may be of great interest to the entire channel is “Innovative Situational Awareness at the New World Trade Center: Security Intelligence Through the Integration of Identities and Events.” Lou Barani, Security Director at the New World Trade Center, will join Laurie Aaron of Quantum Secure, Phillip Santore of DVS, and Tim Galvin of VidSys on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 1:00 pm for a discussion on integrating a complex security system, which meets various stake holders’ needs while balancing the commercial viability of the WTC.

In addition to the ISC Premier Education Series, PSA Security Network will be presenting a series of case studies in a theater on the show floor.  These free, integrator-presented case studies are designed to illustrate how multiple products from several manufacturers were successfully integrated into a fully-functional security system to achieve the security goals of the end-user customer. Each case study will be presented by the project lead or principal at the Integrator’s company with ample opportunity to discuss the project in-depth. The Case Study Theater will cover projects in Healthcare, Education/Campus Security, Building Management, and Pharmaceuticals.

“Our customer needs research shows that peer learning and best practice-sharing is consistently one of the highest priorities for the security professionals attending events,” said Ed Several, senior vice president and general manager, ISC Event portfolio. “Through our collaboration with industry associations and partners, we are able to bring valuable and relevant education to the entire security distribution channel at no cost. We’re confident that ALL ISC Solutions attendees can benefit from the insight that will be shared.”
