HID Global Appoints Kerry Reid as Vice President of HID Connect Business

HID Global recently announced Kerry Reid has joined HID Global as vice president of HID Connect. In his new role, Reid will be responsible for driving HID Global hardware and software partnerships and extending the company’s Genuine HID Technology ecosystem. This involves building upon HID’s existing strengths in the access control market by expanding the use of Genuine HID Technology beyond the company’s traditional manufactured products, and promoting partner solutions that use 13.56 MHz iCLASS and 125 kHz proximity technologies.

With over 20 years of industry experience in channel and OEM sales, marketing management and international sales roles,  Reid brings executive expertise and a global perspective that will greatly contribute to the expansion of the secure identity solutions provider's technology licensing programs around the world.

Under Reid's leadership, more third-party providers will be able to use the HID Connect partner platform to grow their businesses by helping end-users use their existing HID technology-enabled cards for new access control applications such as desk top log in and authentication, time and attendance, biometrics, secure print authentication, electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and many other emerging applications in this rapidly expanding industry.

“Kerry’s international sales experience, combined with his extensive background in developing new channel and OEM businesses makes him the ideal choice for our embedded technologies business, especially at a time when we are scaling globally into new markets,” said Tony Ball, senior vice president of Identity and Access Management with HID Global. “With a proven track record of building relationships with partners, he will be invaluable in expanding our Genuine HID Technology ecosystem of partners who enable customers to ‘do more than open doors’ with their existing HID Global smart cards.”

Prior to joining HID Global, Mr. Reid served as vice president of worldwide sales at ATTO Technology, a global leader in storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments.  Before joining ATTO, he held numerous executive-level positions at Next I/0, LSI Logic and Adaptec Inc. Mr. Reid received his B.S. in Marketing from Northern Illinois University.
