Johnson Controls Expands Fire and Burglary Monitoring Services

Johnson Controls, a Milwaukee-based alarm-monitoring facility, is now using IP-based alarm transmissions instead of analog to monitor fire and burglary panels.

IP digital signals can make alarms more reliable and lessen response time. The signals provide continuous monitoring and work to detect transmission failures within seconds. Older monitoring technology is only validated every 24 hours. With IP signals, there is no need for analog phone lines.

"When a security or fire incident occurs, every second matters," said Paul Pisarski, manager at Johnson Control's remote operations center. "This new technology helps ensure that we are the fastest, most reliable and economic service available.”
