Heifer International Using Arecont Vision Megapixel Cameras

Arecont Vision has installed megapixel cameras at Heifer International, a nonprofit that has a three-building campus.

The IP megapixel cameras will help broaden the company's video surveillance, improve the quality of images and reduce cabling and the number of cameras required.

“Arecont Vision provided the most robust features, and the panoramic options are beyond impressive,” said Zachary Wirges, president of system designer and integrator. “The customer recognized the quality of the product, which allowed performance and versatility to be the focus of the design.”

Heifer's campus now has three AV8185DN SurroundVideo® Day/night 8-megapixel H.264 cameras, one AV8365DN SurroundVideo® Day/night 8-megapixel H.264 camera, one AV2825IR full-HD mode, 1080p H.264 MegaView£ IP camera and four AV1355 H.264 MegaDome® IP cameras.

A central guard station monitors the cameras, but multiple departments can also monitor their areas.

“We can now see areas of the campus that were not previously addressed and acquire the necessary information to address whatever event occurs,” Wirges said. “The system can clearly deliver faces, license plates, vehicle details, physical details and even capture video in low light.”

Snap One has announced its popular Luma x20 family of surveillance products now offers even greater security and privacy for home and business owners across the globe by giving them full control over integrators’ system access to view live and recorded video. According to Snap One Product Manager Derek Webb, the new “customer handoff” feature provides enhanced user control after initial installation, allowing the owners to have total privacy while also making it easy to reinstate integrator access when maintenance or assistance is required. This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.”
