Security Net Annual Meeting Marked 20th Anniversary

Security-Net, a provider of security integration services, held its annual shareholders meeting in late January at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and Spa in Newport Beach, Calif., an event that marked the organization’s 20th anniversary.

The two-day annual meeting brought together representatives from the 19 member companies that make up Security-Net to review general business of the organization, provide strategic direction relating to its National Accounts program, discuss continuing education programs for employees, and to review expanding its partnership program with manufacturers. The annual meeting took place January 24-25.

“We’re doing a lot of national accounts business,” said President of the Board of Directors of Security-Net, Inc., Joe Liguori. “As a result, we’re standardizing our procedures as an organization and providing additional education to our project managers, so they will be better equipped to do their jobs in a marketplace.”

New for Security-Net this year is a project management certification course that allows two employees from each Security-Net member company to participate in an online training course. By September, Security-Net expects to have 38 project managers certified through the program.

“As an organization, we regularly certify our engineers and train our sales people,” said Liguori. “We feel it’s important to now provide our project managers with the same type of tools and educational support.”

Security-Net is currently comprised of 19 independent systems integrators located throughout North America, plus 4 international systems integrators.

The group focuses on the integration of end-to-end security solutions including technologies such as access control, video surveillance, emergency mass notification and perimeter detection systems in aerospace, commercial offices, university campuses, airports, government, utilities, hospitals and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. Individual member companies, which make up the company’s regional locations, regularly share design solutions, troubleshooting tips, technology updates and marketing ideas to provide the most effective, up-to-date security management system for customers.

GSX produced a wonderful tradeshow earlier this week. Monday was surprisingly strong in the morning, and the afternoon wasn’t bad at all. That’s Monday’s results and asking attendees to travel on Sunday. Just a quick hint, no one wants to give up their weekend to travel and set up an exhibit booth. I’m just saying. Read Now

I have been looking forward to this year’s GSX show in New Orleans, the Cresent City, or if you prefer The Big Easy. It seems like quite a while since we’ve been here. Twenty years ago, ASIS, as it was known then was literally washed out of the city by someone known as Katrina. It is a good thing to come back to NOLA. Read Now

  • From Monitors to Mission Control

Security Operations Centers (SOC) were once defined by rows of static monitors, each displaying a single feed with operators quietly watching for issues. That model has become obsolete. Incidents evolve too quickly, data comes from multiple locations, and decisions must be made in seconds—not minutes. Read Now

    A8V MIND

Hexagon’s Geosystems presents a portable version of its Accur8vision detection system. A rugged all-in-one solution, the A8V MIND (Mobile Intrusion Detection) is designed to provide flexible protection of critical outdoor infrastructure and objects. Hexagon’s Accur8vision is a volumetric detection system that employs LiDAR technology to safeguard entire areas. Whenever it detects movement in a specified zone, it automatically differentiates a threat from a nonthreat, and immediately notifies security staff if necessary. Person detection is carried out within a radius of 80 meters from this device. Connected remotely via a portable computer device, it enables remote surveillance and does not depend on security staff patrolling the area.
