Bosch Previews 4K Ultra HD Surveillance Technology

With an investment in research and development unsurpassed in the industry, Bosch is bringing the next generation of imaging technology to the security surveillance market.

4K imaging delivers 4,000 horizontal and 2,000 vertical pixels to produce 8MP resolution that conforms to the SMPTE HD standard. Larger and richer video provides a tremendous advantage in detail capture with crisp, vivid images even when zoomed in digitally. This makes 4K imaging ideal for tracking people, capturing facial characteristics and numbers, and for large area surveillance. And, the 16:9 HD aspect ratio enables widescreen display of the camera field of view—covering more area and giving operators greater situational awareness.

Bosch's next generation imaging solutions will feature a 12MP sensor that is configurable to 4K mode—an industry first! In 4K mode, the cameras transmit video at up to 30 frames per second for smooth motion—the highest performance available in the industry today. And, at full 12MP resolution, the cameras stream video at an industry-leading 20 frames per second.

Delivered in a number of form factors—including a DINION 12MP fixed camera, FLEXIDOME 12MP vandal-resistant dome, FLEXIDOME 8MP 180° panorama dome, and a FLEXIDOME 7MP 360°* panorama dome —the cameras will fit a range of applications.

For a complete 4K solution, Bosch will offer monitors, video management software, recording and transcoding solutions, ensuring customers get the best image quality possible from these advanced surveillance systems.

This new feature is now available to all Luma x20 users globally. “The Luma x20 family of surveillance solutions provides excellent image and audio capture, and with the new customer handoff feature, it now offers absolute privacy for camera feeds and recordings,” Webb said. “With notifications and integrator access controlled through the powerful OvrC remote system management platform, it’s easy for integrators to give their clients full control of their footage and then to get temporary access from the client for any troubleshooting needs.”
