A Breakthrough in Seamless Migration to IP from Speco Technologies

Today, Speco Technologies, a manufacturer of video surveillance solutions that deter crime, announced immediate availability of the NSP NVR with built-in PoE and Digital Deterrent.  A major break though for those who are migrating from analog to IP, the NSP provides the ease of an IP setup with the simplicity of an analog system. A Breakthrough in Seamless Migration to IP from Speco TechnologiesFor those transitioning to IP, the NSP is the perfect unit as the PoE eliminates having to run a separate power supply to the IP cameras. The NSP provides seamless IP camera connectivity when using Speco’s OnSIP & VIP cameras and is also compatible with all Onvif Profile S cameras.

The NSP provides HD 1080p resolution and recording. It has a dual network interface that isolates IP camera traffic from network traffic to alleviate possible bandwidth challenges. The dual network interface helps increase throughput and increase security by separating IP cameras to their own network to help minimize degradation of other networked applications. The NSP also provides true plug and play capability with its EZ Camera wizard that automatically searches and connects Speco IP cameras on LAN.

Installation is simple using the EZ Setup Wizard, guiding the user from start to finish within minutes. Setup can even be done wirelessly from an iPad by downloading Speco’s configuration iPad App, making installation even easier. Once the unit is connected, free smart phone apps are available (on Google Play and Apple Store) to view cameras though an iPhone, iPad or Android device. The NS and NSP are PC and Mac compatible, and can be used on Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox and Google Chrome, as well.

Both do not fall short of Speco’s unique differentiators. They have Digital Deterrent for triggering an audio message via motion detector or sensor system monitoring to receive system health status and up to the minute notifications, free DDNS servers and much more.

The NSP and NS are available in 4 and 8 channel models, with a 16 channel version coming soon. Storage ranges from 500GB to 9TB, and an ESATA port adds an additional 2TB of storage. Finding a specific moment though all those files is a breeze with EZ Search, which quickly helps sorts though large amount of data with a few clicks to see a desired event.

  • The Future is Happening Outside the Cloud

For years, the cloud has captivated the physical security industry. And for good reason. Remote access, elastic scalability and simplified maintenance reshaped how we think about deploying and managing systems. But as the number of cameras grows and resolutions push from HD to 4K and beyond, the cloud’s limits are becoming unavoidable. Bandwidth bottlenecks. Latency lags. Rising storage costs. These are not abstract concerns. Read Now

In situations where AI supports important security tasks like leading investigations and detecting threats and anomalies, transparency is essential. When an incident occurs, investigators must trace the logic behind each automated response to confirm its validity or spot errors. Demanding interpretable AI turns opaque “black boxes” into accountable partners that enhance, rather than compromise, organizational defense. Read Now

  • Seeking Innovative Solutions

Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. You may recognize these terms as the “5 Phases” of a grieving process, but they could easily describe the phases one goes through before adopting any new or emerging innovation or technology, especially in a highly risk-averse industry like security. However, the desire for convenience in all aspects of modern life is finally beginning to turn the tide from old school hardware as the go-to towards more user-friendly, yet still secure, door solutions.
