Tyco Security Products to Showcase Purpose Built Portfolio at ASIS 2013

Tyco Security Products, part of Tyco, the world’s largest pure-play fire protection and security company, will be showcasing its comprehensive portfolio of purpose-built access control and video solutions in Booth 305 at the 59th Annual ASIS Seminar & Exhibits.

The newly acquired Exacq Technologies will make its debut in the Tyco Security Products booth as further evidence of the company’s recognition of the widely diverse way in which customers use their solutions. Exacq’s intuitive portfolio of event-driven VMS solutions – exacqVision - is the ideal complement to the company’s American Dynamics VMS solution – VideoEdge and victor - that is better suited for those who use their video solutions in an active monitoring environment. These user-centric offerings cater to fundamentally different user needs, which the company identifies as a gap in the market today.

“The needs of today’s security end user are so diverse that the assumption that a one size fits all approach meets the requirements of every customer is no longer valid,” said Mike Ryan, president of Tyco Security Products. “We’re looking forward to unveiling this thoughtful approach to our customers and prospective customers at the ASIS event so they will understand that they do not have to make sacrifices to achieve their very specific security objectives.”

This focus on user-specific objectives is also addressed by the vast offering of American Dynamics IP cameras that will be on display. The new Illustra 625 PTZ is designed with exceptional speed and ultra-low latency performance for applications where locating, tracking and zooming in on subject details is critical. For settings where discretion is of the utmost importance, the Illustra Compact Mini-Domes offer affordable, high-performance IP video that delivers 720p and 1080p resolutions for crystal clear images.

The purpose-built philosophy is not new to the company which markets distinct access control solutions to different customers globally. The latest releases from three of those differentiated solutions – Kantech, Software House, and Elpas - will be on display at the booth.

One of the highlights for Kantech, with its intuitive approach to security, is the Intevo Compact, an entry-level version of its innovative, easy to deploy integrated security platform that integrates access control, IP video and intrusion for small to medium size enterprises. Intuitive by nature, Intevo can easily be managed by users who are not full time security professionals using the newly introduced EntraPass Go mobile app and EntraPass Web web interface.

Software House will showcase its new single-reader version of the popular iSTAR Edge controller. This new controller utilizes Power over Ethernet (PoE) to leverage existing network infrastructure, which dramatically reduces installation costs – costs that can quickly get exorbitant for a security team looking for an enterprise solution.  A new version of the industry-leading security and event management platform, C•CURE 9000 v2.2, features a host of enhancements that simplify the management of personnel access, including features such as credential deactivation, custom clearances, and activating events based on activity.

The new Low Profile Asset Tag from Elpas is an innovative Active RFID Transmitter which unifies traditional Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) with real time active location based tracking systems (RTLS).  The tag is ideal for enhanced security on high value items such as laptops when physical locking options are not feasible.  With the Eiris Go mobile app for both Android and Apple smartphones, emergency field personnel can receive immediate, up-to-date indoor location positioning data about the location of a security situation as the incident unfolds, while the app ensures that the appropriate response teams receive the correct alerts.

In addition to providing comprehensive demonstrations of its newest solutions, Tyco Security Products is pleased to once again offer its popular Briefing Center, where subject matter experts from all technologies will host thought-provoking educational presentations. The Tyco Security Products Briefing Center, located at Booth 305, will include topics such as “Video ‘Must-Haves’ in High Traffic, Active Surveillance Environments”, “How the User Experience is Redefining Security Solutions”, and “Power over Ethernet Opens New Doors”.
