Linear and Digital Watchdog Announce e3 OneBox

Linear and Digital Watchdog Announce e3 OneBoxLinear, announces the e3 OneBox that combines Linear’s embedded browser IP-based access control platform with Digital Watchdog’s full-featured DW-VMAX digital video recording capability within one enclosure to create a fully-integrated access and video solution.

Integrating access control and video into a single platform has many security and installation benefits. Event-driven video tagging, for instance, allows users to capture and quickly find video of a specific access point at the time it was opened, closed or locked. Video tagging can be useful for verifying the identity of users, catching tail-gaters who may have gained unauthorized access by following someone in, validating shipments, or even tracking people and items coming in and out of a facility.

The Linear e3 OneBox solution has many flexible installation and management options designed to make buildings and the people inside more secure and easier to monitor. The e3 OneBox is a Linux-embedded appliance and is available with either four or eight channel analog video inputs with various storage configuration options from 500 GB to 2 TB. A full suite of Digital Watchdog remote applications are available for both solutions including video management options for smartphones, tablets, browsers, ACS and Pivot Software. The solution also provides constant live-viewing of cameras and the access control dashboard as well as text or email notifications, including snapshots; based on specified events.

“Dealers and end users are frustrated with having to deal with two different systems for managing access control and video, when they should both be part of a single security management system,” said Duane Paulson, senior vice president of market and product development for Linear. “Linear’s development of e3 OneBox with Digital Watchdog makes integration of access control and video simple while providing features that benefit the security and productivity of end users. We will continue to expand the e3 OneBox offering as the market demands grow for integrated security, video and access control solutions.”

e3 OneBox simplifies the installation with a wall mountable cabinet that houses both access control and video recording in a single box. The cabinet features a rugged, lockable steel enclosure with tamper switch and supervised AC battery backup capabilities. Existing Linear eMerge Essential or Elite systems can be upgraded to support Digital Watchdog four, eight, and 16 channel VMAX DVRs via License-to-Go software upgrade keys.

“Digital Watchdog is quite proud of our development relationship with Linear and what has been created between our two companies. Linear has really taken the lead in creating a simple, scalable, access control and video security platform for not only the integrator, but more importantly the end-user,” said Wade Thomas, president of Digital Watchdog.

Every company has unique surveillance requirements that are based on market focus, scale, scope, risk tolerance, geographic area and, of course, budget. Those factors all play a role in deciding how to configure a surveillance system, and how to effectively implement technologies like AI. Read Now

  • The Stage is Set

The security industry spans the entire globe, with manufacturers, developers and suppliers on every continent (well, almost—sorry, Antarctica). That means when regulations pop up in one area, they often have a ripple effect that impacts the entire supply chain. Recent data privacy regulations like GDPR in Europe and CPRA in California made waves when they first went into effect, forcing businesses to change the way they approach data collection and storage to continue operating in those markets. Even highly specific regulations like the U.S.’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) can have international reverberations – and this growing volume of legislation has continued to affect global supply chains in a variety of different ways.
