ICE Cable Systems Receives HDBaseT Certification on Cat 5e and Cat6 Products

ICE Cable Systems announced that its Cat5e and Cat6 cables have received HDBaseT certification. This means the products perform to specs as defined by the HDBaseT Alliance. According to ICE Cable President Brian Rizzo, the certification serves to propel the company towards a leadership position of HDBaseT Cat 5e/6 cable solutions in the CEDIA channel. It also further cements the brand’s value proposition of delivering high-performance yet cost-effective solutions.

ICE Cable Systems Receives HDBaseT Certification on Cat 5e and Cat6 ProductsHDBaseT is a connectivity standard for whole-home and commercial distribution of uncompressed HD multimedia content. The cornerstone of HDBaseT technology is 5Play, a feature set that converges uncompressed, full, HD digital video, audio, 100BaseT Ethernet, power over cable and various control signals through a single LAN cable.

“With HDBaseT, installers are running video, audio, Ethernet, control and power all on one cable, all of which requires equipment ‘handshakes’ on each end,” said Rizzo. “We want to help installers do it right the first time so they can move onto other areas of the job. ICE Cable has spared no expense in the making of our product, from the quality and quantity of copper and compounds we use, to our tangle-free dispensers.”

ICE Cable Systems’ HDBaseT-certified Cat5e and Cat6 cables are sold in bulk cartons of 1,000 feet/ 305 meters. For installation convenience, the cartons incorporate REELEX II payout technology that delivers tangle-free pulls, and according to Rizzo, contributes to signal performance.  The wire is also UL-listed, ETL-verified and RoHS-compliant.

ICE Cable Systems has more than 50 distributors in North America and internationally.
