XTec Adds to HSPD-12 Smart Card Issuance

XTec Incorporated announced that it was awarded the HSPD-12 Shared Service Provider contract by the General Services Administration. The award is to support the GSA Managed Service Office (MSO) that provides HSPD-12 credential enrollment, issuance and management for more than 100 federal agencies under the USAccess program.

With XTec’s Enterprise AuthentX 5 Suite, all 101 federal agencies will experience reliable, compliant and streamlined card issuance and lifecycle activities. As the first GSA central issuance vendor in 2003, XTec is returning to work with GSA on HSPD-12 credential issuance.

“XTec products and solutions have supported smart cards since before HSPD-12,” said XTec President and CEO Albert Fernandez. “We are excited to share this knowledge and experience with GSA and so many other federal agencies.”

With this award XTec will now manage nearly eighty percent of all Civilian Executive Branch Agency Personal Identity Verification, PIV credentials.

“Since the nineties, we have partnered with industry, GSA and various other agencies to build successful card issuance and identity authentication programs,” added XTec Executive Vice President Kevin Kozlowski.  “XTec is glad to be able to build on the good work done over the past 8 years by our worthy competitor, HP Enterprise Services. We look forward to being a part of the continued HSPD-12 and FICAM implementations moving forward.”

Under USAccess, XTec will also serve as a key foundational component to help agencies unite their logical and physical access control system implementation strategies.

In addition to agencies under the USAccess program such as the Department of Treasury, Department of Energy, Department of the Interior and Department of Agriculture; XTec also provides HSPD-12 credentialing services for the Department of Homeland Security, Department of State, National Science Foundation, Broadcasting Board of Governors, Smithsonian Institution and Department of Labor. Related to HSPD-12, XTec provides physical and logical access control solutions and PIV-Interoperable credentialing.
