Voting Period Begins for Stanley Security's Grant Program

STANLEY Security, a manufacturer and integrator of comprehensive security solutions for a wide range of industries, announces that the nomination period has closed and voting has begun for the second installment of its TOGETHER FOR SAFER SCHOOLS Grant Program to help higher education institutions enhance security on campuses. In its second year, the STANLEY Security TOGETHER FOR SAFER SCHOOLS Grant Program provides the opportunity to strengthen safety and security in U.S. colleges and universities through a share of a $600,000 grant from STANLEY.

Starting January 19 and running through February 13, 2015, students, faculty, administrators, parents, alumni and members of the campus community can vote daily online for their school at www.stanleysaferschools.com, via SMS text messaging or – new to this year’s contest – on Twitter via a hashtag specific to each qualifying school.

Colleges and universities with the first and second-most votes across three tiers of campus size – under 8,000 students, between 8,000-19,999 students and over 20,000 students – will be selected as grant winners, for a total of six winners. The winning schools will be announced in March 2015.

Offerings provided to grant winners include consultative security services, access to STANLEY Security’s premier Software Solutions Group (SSG) and seminars for school officials on security threat assessment and advanced Clery Act training offered by STANLEY Security partner and campus security experts, D. Stafford & Associates. Turn-key installations available to winners can be any STANLEY Security product or solution, including access control solutions, video surveillance, fire systems, intrusion systems, mechanical and electromechanical door hardware, mass notification systems and other security technologies.

“We are excited to start the next phase of the TOGETHER FOR SAFER SCHOOLS Grant Program,” said Kyle Gordon, director of Higher Education Market Solutions – North America. “We were so pleased to see the enthusiastic response from colleges and universities during the nomination period, and we are looking forward to seeing all the creative ways campuses and communities will collaborate and rally together in an effort to win funding to help create a safer learning environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors on campus. We wish the best of luck to all participating schools.”

By focusing on higher education institutions in 2015, STANLEY Security hopes to reach out to a variety of campus communities and their widespread networks of loyal alumni and supporters and beyond, encouraging significant conversations on the need to advance security technologies and remain committed to campus safety at every level.

“Regardless of alumni status or having a particular school allegiance, we’d like to encourage everyone to visit www.stanleysaferschools.com, adopt a school to support, and vote daily,” Gordon continued. “The national dialogue on campus safety is one that impacts the lives

of individuals in every city and corner of this country, and we hope that the TOGETHER FOR SAFER SCHOOLS Grant Program allows the opportunity for all people to enter into and participate in this crucial exchange.”

STANLEY currently partners with over 2,500 colleges and universities nationwide to promote the value of secure campus learning environments.
