IBS-Mapei Deploys Oncam Grandeye 360-degree Technology

Oncam Grandeye, the security division of Oncam Technologies, announced that IBS-Mapei, a manufacturer of adhesive and chemical products for the construction industry, has deployed Oncam Grandeye’s 360-degree surveillance platform to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Safeguarding the workplace while maximizing operations is critical in the supply chain and warehouse environment. With a workforce comprised of individuals from more than 25 nationalities — many of whom do not speak the same language — IBS-Mapei sought a technology platform that could augment the efforts of its on-site personnel to limit the occurrence of safety incidents and monitor the cause of any that occur.

IBS-Mapei deployed 360-degree IP camera technology from Oncam Grandeye at seven sites to provide total situational awareness. The ability to monitor an entire 360-degree field of view, with no blind spots, allows organizations to gain new levels of insight into its security and business operations. Up to four traditional cameras can be replaced with one 360-camera, reducing upfront expenditures and installation costs while gaining a wider field of view.

The detailed images from the Oncam Grandeye surveillance cameras deliver a comprehensive view of IBS-Mapei’s loading areas, one-way system and site perimeter. Video is available for review for up to 30 days, available for post-event investigations if an issue arises. Use of the cameras is optimized due to the 360-design, which ensures no blind spots and eliminates the need to fine-tune the cameras to enhance viewing.

“The detail the cameras give us is invaluable,” said Christopher Lacey, quality assurance, health, safety and environmental manager, IBS-Mapei. “The video from the the Oncam Grandeye cameras captured vehicle movements that led us to add road markings to reduce the chances of an accident on property and improve operational efficiency. For making educated decisions on how best to manage our site from a health and safety perspective, Oncam’s 360-degree cameras are a must.”

“IBS Mapei is focused on ensuring a safe and healthy workplace environment and Oncam Grandeye’s surveillance solutions are a valuable addition to the company’s safety initiatives,” said Adrian Marsh, COO, Oncam Grandeye. “The organization has realized significant benefits and cost savings by deploying the 360-degree imaging platform, while gaining access to video images that help maintain regulatory requirements.”
