Open Options and Convergint Technologies Partner in Global Dealer Agreement

Open Options has executed a global dealer agreement with international security systems integrator Convergint Technologies.

The new partnership will allow Convergint to add Open Options access control software and supporting products to its extensive line of security integration offerings, expanding both Open Options’ North American and international reach. Based outside of Chicago, Convergint is a service-based global integrator of electronic security, fire alarm, life safety, healthcare technologies, communication, and building automation with a diverse group of vertical markets served.

Because Open Options and Convergint promote an open architecture approach in delivering security solutions, “it’s a very strong collaboration,” said Open Options Vice President and General Manager Jonathan Berman.

“Open Options was among the first to embrace true open architecture in an industry that offered proprietary, closed systems that trapped users into an expensive and limited model. Convergint has long emphasized that choosing a non-proprietary security solution is paramount as it enables customers to avoid sole source dependency while ensuring long-term system flexibility and maintaining cost-effectiveness,” said Berman.

“Open Options’ DNA Fusion access control software has a very deep integration portfolio with leading suppliers of video surveillance, intelligent locks, and cards and alarm hardware, which will complement Convergint's product offerings,” said Convergint General Manager Phil Kertz.

“We are very excited about our partnership with Open Options and feel our cultures are very similar,” said Kertz. “One of Convergint’s core values and beliefs is to ‘Be Our Customer’s Best Service Provider’ and from what we have seen from Open Options is we both place a very high emphasis on customer service. Working together with Open Options’ support teams we can expand our horizons and obtain our goals of having happy customers.”

To kickoff the partnership, Open Options representatives visited the Convergint teams from Dallas, Oklahoma, and Kansas at the Convergint office in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex this week. Reps demonstrated the Open Options product line headlined by DNA Fusion — the most feature-rich, IT-centric access control solution available offering One Source/One Touch Control that combines the best in open architecture access, video, data, and audio security.
