ESX 2015 to Feature Green Beret A-Team on Exhibit Floor

The Electronic Security Expo (ESX)—the national trade event where electronic security and life safety dealers, integrators, and monitoring professionals connect, learn and prepare for the future—has announced unprecedented access to the Green Berets during the event. Through the partnership between ESA Gives Back and the Green Beret Foundation, a Green Beret Special Forces Operational Detachment-Alpha (also called an ODA or A-Team) will be holding a MODDEMO in booth #917 on the ESX 2015 trade show floor.

A MODDEMO is an event where visitors learn more about the capabilities of this group of elite, highly-trained Green Berets who specialize in advanced marksmanship, weapons, communications, intelligence, trauma medicine, and explosives. During the MODDEMO an actual A-Team will display their equipment, weapons, gear and be on hand to answer questions. Articles in the exhibit will range from the light AR-15 rifle and the medium M240 machine gun—to the heavy M82 Barrett sniper rifle, advanced encryption devices and state-of-the-art medical.

A-Teams are modeled after the intelligence-gathering Jedburgh teams of World War II and are comprised of 12 extremely professional and competent men – one officer, one warrant officer, and ten senior non-commissioned officers. They focus on one foreign area in the world to study and attend years of training that includes Close Quarters Battle (CQB), SCUBA, High Altitude Low Opening (HALO), evasive driving, and intense foreign language schools. A-Team members are proficient in foreign languages and experts in cultural sensitivities, these warrior diplomats often conduct secretive and dangerous missions behind enemy lines.

"This is an excellent opportunity for security and life safety professionals to learn more about the Green Berets capabilities and accomplishments, and to thank them for their service to our country,” said George De Marco, chairman of ESX.

The MODDEMO will be open during ESX 2015 show floor hours. Attendees can also visit the Green Beret Foundation in booth #921 to learn more about the Foundation and its Next Ridgeline program, which gives Green Berets and their families access to a vetted network of resources to facilitate success in transitioning out of the military.

Trade show attendees are invited to join ESA Gives Back in supporting the Green Beret Foundation by visiting ESA’s booth # 829 and the Green Beret Foundation’s booth #921 to learn more about the incredible work the organization does, make a donation, or to ask how you can add these elite individuals to your list of potential job candidates.
