ISC West: New Products on the Scene

Each month, I have the absolute pleasure of collecting the newest products in the security industry for our print magazine, Security Products. Finding the newest innovations is such a fun part of my job, so I decided to gather some of the newest products that will be announced throughout the course of ISC West. I will be including the corresponding booth numbers so, if you feel so inclined to check out these cool new things, you can see them during your trip in Vegas!

So without further to do, here are five new products being announced at ISC West 2016!

Intelligent Audio Analytics System (LE-802)

Louroe Electronics, Booth #7065

Louroe will present their first hardware and software analytic solution, the Intelligent Audio Analytics System (LE-802). It is a turnkey audio analytics solution that is equipped with wide frequency response technology and capable of running any of the four analytics the company currently offers (aggression, gunshot, glass break and car alarm). Designed for unattended monitoring for outdoor applications in public safety markets, the solution is housed in a weatherproof, vandal-resistant enclosure.

AccessXpert

Schneider Electric, Booth 10037

Schneider Electric today introduced AccessXpert, a new, fully web-based security management solution at ISC West 2016. Based on the latest in open-protocol support, AccessXpert simplifies and streamlines security management for today’s on-the-move security staff. The new solution leverages secure, cloud-based technologies to provide building owners, managers and security personnel with anywhere, anytime mobile access to video surveillance, intrusion detection, access control, alarm management and other systems. In addition, it merges security with Schneider Electric’s SmartStruxure building management system (BMS) to enable clearer decisions, faster responses and maximum facility efficiency.

GroundAware CS4

Dynetics, Booth 3088

GroundAware CS4, the newest version of Dynetics’ reconfigurable surveillance radar, brings a new level of efficiency and effectiveness to critical infrastructure owner/operators who must monitor extensive perimeters and grounds for potential security threats posed by humans, animals, vehicles and aircraft. GroundAware CS4 enables security operators to discover intrusions from longer ranges, respond to potential threats based on greater real-time intelligence and easily integrate GroundAware with other security assets.

  • The Evolution of IP Camera Intelligence

As the 30th anniversary of the IP camera approaches in 2026, it is worth reflecting on how far we have come. The first network camera, launched in 1996, delivered one frame every 17 seconds—not impressive by today’s standards, but groundbreaking at the time. It did something that no analog system could: transmit video over a standard IP network. Read Now

  • From Surveillance to Intelligence

Years ago, it would have been significantly more expensive to run an analytic like that — requiring a custom-built solution with burdensome infrastructure demands — but modern edge devices have made it accessible to everyone. It also saves time, which is a critical factor if a missing child is involved. Video compression technology has played a critical role as well. Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
