China Unveils First Robot Security Guard

It is called Bot, and it stands just less than 150 centimeters tall, has the ability to travel at a top speed of 19 kilometers per hour and is the first robotic security guard.

Chinese researchers have unveiled the future of security at a tech fair in Chongqing at the end of April. The robot is “China’s first intelligent security robot,” according to People’s Daily and was created by the National Defense University to carry out automatic security patrols and guard against terrorists and rioters.

The robot can auto-patrol, recharge itself and electrocute those who are not following the laws. While there are autonomous features, there is also a way for the robot to be remotely used by authorities if need be.
