Signal Boosters and SmartSecurity Devices

Signal Boosters and SmartSecurity Devices

Smart devices are everywhere, and the growing market for smart homes tethered to smart devices, and thus home security systems, is developing quickly. Even in one of the more recent iPhone iOs updates, “Home” was added so that the user can manage their smart home when they’re away. Locking your home doors remotely from an app is one of the many ways in which the Internet of things is making our lives more secure and safe. One of the main outgrowths of this technology- smart homes with monitoring apps, help us protect our businesses, valuables, and of course our loved ones.

Home security kits are now available from a variety of price points, allowing consumers to customize to their specific security needs and concerns. These can range from do-it-yourself installation kits to much more complex systems that require professional installation and have 24/7 monitoring by professionals. The newer smart home security systems allow the user to directly intervene and have more personal control by enabling them to monitor security on their own or in addition to professional surveillance. In systems not supported by professional monitoring, that leaves the user to call the police or first responders for a given emergency.

You can have the best combination lock ever made and still, failure to lock it means it is useless. The truth is that home security only works if it is armed. The ability to check in and lock your doors remotely through a security system app is phenomenal. But the truth is, even that is only as safe and secure as your  WiFi or cellular connection. While technology is ever improving our connection at home or on the go, there’s still a lot of gaps between what your cell phone data coverage area is and the smaller WiFi pools. Even where there is coverage, you may not have access to the WiFi password, or access to your cellular data network. So what then? How can you check in in areas that don’t allow to you to access your network?  No coverage, no checking in. The infrastructure needed to make 4G LTE available to all users isn’t even supported yet, so neither yet are all the possibilities yet to come with the Internet of things.

Cell phone signal boosters help bridge the gap between your cell phone carrier’s coverage and wifi. While many security systems do not need WiFi to reliably protect your home, to monitor remotely while you’re out of the house, you will require access to a cell phone signal. If your coverage is unreliable in one area of your life, this leaves you in the dark. If you travel for business and need to leave your home for extended periods of time while you’re on the road, a vehicular signal booster would help keep you connected so you always have access to your security app. In areas with spotty coverage, investing in a home signal amplifier kit would give the user more options in security systems, by allowing them to self monitor through an app rather than be solely reliant on more costly 24/7 professional surveillance. In industrial applications and business enterprise, a professionally installed industrial or commercial booster would allow owners the same freedom of choice.

In summary, home surveillance and security systems technology will continue to advance. The applications made possible by the Internet of Things ensure that we will ever be more connected. However, the infrastructure hasn’t caught up yet so that everyone always access to the very communication method needed to make all these security systems as secure as we need them to be. Signal boosters are a great investment to make to further protect consumer properties and keep smart home security systems accessible to the user.
