President Trump Signs Cybersecurity Executive Order

President Trump has signed an executive order to strengthen the government’s cybersecurity.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Thursday to bolster the government’s cybersecurity and protect the nation’s critical infrastructure from cyber attacks, according to the White House.

The order seeks to improve the network security of the United States government agencies from which hackers have stolen millions of personal records and other forms of sensitive data in the recent years.

In addition to more secure networks, the order hopes to beef up critical infrastructure security, such as the energy grid and financial sector.

The order seeks to build on efforts in the Obama administration by laying out goals to develop a more cogent cybersecurity deterrence strategy.

The executive order comes in the midst of FBI and CIA investigations into potential cyber attacks in the United States carried out by other countries, such as Russia.
