Chipotle Releases Nationwide List of Breached Stores

Chipotle Releases Nationwide List of Breached Stores

Chipotle has released a nationwide list of stores that were targeted in the security breach between March and April of 2017.

Chipotle Mexican Grill is advising customers to check their bank records after malware was discovered in its payment system in late April.

According to the restaurant’s website, the chain is advising people to place fraud alerts and even freeze accounts if any suspicious activity appears in their banking accounts.

Chipotle says that any transactions made at identified stores between March 24 and April 18 could be exposed to the breach. In order to help customers find out if their accounts have been made vulnerable, Chipotle has created a database of targeted stores available on their website.

If you think you might have indulged on a burrito or taco at Chipotle during the time frame in question, click here and scroll to the bottom of the page.  You’ll be prompted to insert the state and city in which you might have visited. From there, a list of store in the area will pop up with a date range in which that store was compromised.

From there, check your bank records. If you used your card at that store during those dates, it may be best to contact your financial institution to ask about getting a new debit or credit card to protect your funds.
