Razberi Launches PortExtender to Scale Video Surveillance and Cybersecurity

Today at the ASIS 63rd annual conference for security professionals, Razberi unveiled PortExtender to help enterprises and system integrators manage and monitor the health of an expanding network. The product provides an increased switch port count for Razberi ServerSwitchIQ™ customers that want to securely add IP cameras and Internet of Things (IoT) devices under a single point of management.

"Expanding enterprise security and surveillance needs are forcing organizations to add IP cameras and IoT devices, but they cannot afford for this equipment to be unprotected and unmonitored," said Tom Galvin, Razberi CEO. "PortExtender future-proofs video surveillance investments by providing a secure, smart way to scale while retaining the cybersecurity, health monitoring, and other intelligence capabilities that Razberi offers."

Razberi PortExtender extends Razberi's CameraDefense™ cybersecurity and VyneWatch™ health monitoring to cameras not physically connected to Razberi ServerSwitchIQ appliances. CameraDefense enables organizations to automatically harden IP cameras, secure their video management systems, and receive proactive alerts to cyber threats. VyneWatch enables security professionals to monitor the performance of the surveillance system and Razberi appliances.

Enterprises and system integrators can deploy an eight or 16-port version of PortExtender with easy installation. An encrypted, plug-and-play connection securely adds more network cameras and other IoT devices with an intuitive, single point of management. The PortExtender serves as a stacked, managed PoE switch that performs deep packet inspection, enabling the automated camera hardening and security for IoT devices.
