Securitas Enhances Data Center Security With Smart Screening

Powered by a new strategic partnership, Securitas is leading the way in physical security for the fast-growing data center sector by integrating millimeter wave people screening technology to detect threats.

Securitas, the intelligent security solutions partner with world-leading technology and expertise, has formalized a strategic partnership with Rohde & Schwarz, the leader in artificial intelligence-based millimeter wave screening technology. This long-term collaboration sets a new standard for data center security, offering increased precision, privacy, and agility to the world’s most critical and high-stakes environments.

As the demand for always-on digital infrastructure grows, so do the requirements for robust physical security systems to protect against insider threats, data theft, sabotage, and other risks.

At the core of this strategic partnership, Securitas will integrate Rohde & Schwarz’s screening technology into its multi-layered data center security offering, introducing a screening process that is non-contact, safe and accurate.

“This is a perfect demonstration of how technology augments, rather than replaces, human expertise,” says Milton Plet, SVP and Head of Global Clients Data Center Group at Securitas. “Our officers are still at the core of the solution, only better supported by real-time information to make even better decisions in order to protect our clients’ assets.”

Rohde & Schwarz’s Quick Personnel Security Scanners (QPS) are trusted by government agencies and high-security organizations globally, delivering real time industry-specific threat detection while significantly improving throughput and streamlining operational flow.

By optimizing on-site officers’ role in manual screening, the QPS enables a more efficient staffing model, empowering remote officers to monitor and respond in real time and provide a safer, faster, and more cost-effective entry process.

Built on millimeter wave technology and artificial intelligence, the QPS utilizes algorithms to identify anomalies and supports security officers in real-time decision-making.

“The strategic partnership with Securitas enables us to introduce our security scanners, formerly exclusive to governments, now also to data centers, where adaptability, consistency and precision are key,” says Andreas Haegele, VP Microwave Imaging at Rohde & Schwarz. “Together we are delivering a customized, future-proof solution that adapts to both clients’ needs and the threat landscape.”

By providing actionable insights such as alarm rate monitoring and flow optimization, the QPS enables greater operational continuity, regulatory compliance, and a smoother end-user experience even in the most delicate environments.

“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to innovation and client-centric solutions,” says Nelson Barreto, SVP, Global Clients at Securitas Technology. “By combining electronic security expertise along with our global protective services and reach, we’re delivering a smarter, more adaptive approach to securing data centers, no matter where they’re located.”

With over 90 years of experience in making the world a safer place, Securitas – through its integrated services and technology – continues to lead the way in delivering intelligent, scalable security solutions for the world’s most critical infrastructure.
