SIA Names Erica McCann Chair of Government Relations Committee

McCann will lead the Security Industry Association’s primary bipartisan body for federal and state legislative advocacy and policy development.

The Security Industry Association (SIA) has appointed Erica McCann as the new chair of the SIA Government Relations Committee. McCann, who serves as the director of government relations at IronNet, brings extensive experience in cybersecurity policy and public-private partnerships to the role.

The committee serves as the primary body for SIA’s legislative and regulatory advocacy. In her new capacity, McCann will oversee the development of policy positions on issues affecting the security industry, including federal procurement, facial recognition technology, and school security funding.

McCann has been an active member of the committee for several years, previously contributing to initiatives focused on strengthening the security of critical infrastructure. She succeeds the outgoing chair, whose term recently concluded.

SIA CEO Don Erickson noted that McCann's expertise in navigating complex regulatory environments will be instrumental as the association expands its engagement with lawmakers and federal agencies. The committee is composed of volunteers from member companies who work to promote policies that support the growth and innovation of the security sector.

McCann’s leadership is expected to focus on enhancing bipartisan outreach and ensuring that the security industry’s perspective is represented in emerging technology debates.
