Avigilon recently announced that Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK’s largest port operator and leading cruise port operator, has deployed the Avigilon HD Surveillance System to comply with industry regulations, boost security and enhance operational efficiencies at the Ports of Grimsby and Immingham.
Serving 37,000 students in nearly 65 facilities, the Buffalo School District is regarded as a premiere urban school system in New York State. Driven by the belief that all of its schools should be safe, equitable and flexible, the district embarked on a $1.4 billion, district-wide project to modernize its facilities and equipment. The project included a multi-phase performance of $20 million over 20 years for the district.

While doors play an essential role in facility security, system integrators have traditionally contracted this aspect of the job out to others. And who could blame them, considering less than 5 percent of doors have online access control and the other 95 percent have either no security or simple mechanical key systems?

CoxHealth in Springfield, Mo., had been a long-time advocate of using electronic surveillance to protect people and property within its vast premises. In fact, hospital security was already monitoring more than 300 video cameras attached to multiple DVR-based analog systems. But the technology’s gaps in coverage and archiving constraints made it difficult to review weekly incident reports and gather forensic video in a timely manner.
