CYBRA Corp. Hires Michael J. Shabet as Vice President, Sales and Marketing

CYBRA Corp., the developer of EdgeMagic RFID Control Software and MarkMagic Bar Code Labels, RFID Tags and Electronic Forms Software announced that RFID industry veteran Michael J. Shabet has joined the software developer as vice president, sales and marketing. The hiring was announced at the GS1 U Connect 2011 Conference and Exhibition at the Orlando World Center Marriott.

In more than 20 years at Avery Dennison, the $7 billion dollar worldwide labels market share leader, Shabet achieved a company record of 15 Winner Circles Awards. Over the course of his career at Avery, he was an industry innovator in Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing driven solutions for RFID; inventory; track and trace; pick, pack and ship; in-plant printing; and print and apply automation. During the last three years as a global sales manager, Shabet drove Avery Dennison’s RFID item level apparel sales group, delivering ground-breaking advances to the RFID apparel marketplace and consistently exceeding quota objectives. In his new role, Shabet will oversee global sales and marketing activities for CYBRA’s RFID solutions team.

“Michael Shabet’s joining CYBRA as vice president, sales and marketing is a significant milestone for our rapidly growing company,” said CYBRA founder and CEO Harold Brand. “It’s as if Michael was custom made for CYBRA. He brings with him extensive sales experience, customer focus and mastery of sales development and empowerment of a high-performance sales organization. This, combined with his expertise in RFID technology, makes him an ideal fit for CYBRA at this stage in our growth, when we are shifting into high gear and introducing innovative RFID solutions for item level tagging to fully serve the demands of our customers.”

“I am delighted and honored to join CYBRA,” Shabet said. “I am extremely impressed with the breakthrough capabilities of CYBRA’s software and the early leadership position of the company in the exploding market for RFID and advanced Bar Code solutions. Demand for these products and services are accelerating dramatically, not only in the U.S., but throughout the world, and I eagerly look forward to this challenging opportunity to help take the company to the next level.”
