Imation Names John P. Breedlove as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Imation Corp., a global technology company dedicated to helping people and organizations store, protect and connect with their digital world, announced that the company has named John P. Breedlove to the position of vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.

“I am pleased to bring a professional of John Breedlove’s experience to Imation to lead our legal and government affairs function,” said Mark Lucas, Imation president and chief executive officer. “As Imation continues to implement strategic actions for future growth, including investments in key technology platforms, John’s deep experience in mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts and corporate governance will be a valuable asset to Imation. We look forward to adding John’s leadership and insights to our executive team.”

Breedlove’s career spans nearly three decades in commercial and corporate law. He joins Imation following 18 years with SUPERVALU Inc., where he was vice president of business law at the $40 billion grocery, food and logistics company. There, he led the legal team and advised business units on mergers and acquisitions, real estate, antitrust, finance, commercial contracts, credit and intellectual property. He also served as SUPERVALU’s corporate secretary and chief securities counsel for 10 years.

Prior to SUPERVALU, Breedlove was an attorney with the law office of Dorsey & Whitney, Minneapolis, and Graham & James, San Francisco. He received his law degree from the University of California Los Angeles, and a master of business administration and bachelor of arts degree in international relations from the University of Minnesota.

Breedlove replaces John L. Sullivan, who recently retired from Imation after more than 12 years with the company as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary.
