Reed Exhibitions Adds Expo Seguridad Mexico, Mexico Safety Expo to ISC Events Portfolio

Expo Seguridad Mexico and Mexico Safety Expo, two security and safety events in Mexico, are the latest additions to Reed Exhibitions' ISC Events portfolio, a growing family of U.S. and global physical security events. The acquisition will allow Reed to expand value for customers with a robust platform that includes exhibitions in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.

Held in Mexico City at the Banamex Center, Expo Seguridad Mexico will take place April 24-26. Sponsored by the Latin American Security Association (ALAS), ESM is co-located with Mexico Fire Expo, Mexico Safety Expo and Facilities Mexico.

The annual Expo Seguridad Mexico and Mexico Safety Expo events feature more than 350 exhibitors and attracts close to 14,000 security and safety professionals. The 2012 Expo Seguridad Mexico event will mark its 10th anniversary, drawing participants from 18 countries, including many from Central America. Mexico Safety Expo attracts professionals involved in health and occupational safety.

Expo Seguridad Mexico, Mexico Safety Expo, ISC and ISC Brasil will collaborate on the development of world-class content and customer value for exhibitors and visitors by extending strong customer relationships across borders. Both Expo Seguridad Mexico's and Mexico Safety Expo's established strategic partnerships and knowledge of the Latin American marketplace will provide an additional gateway for North American, Central and South American physical security and safety sectors.

"We have always felt a strong responsibility to our loyal exhibitors and visitors to bring to them a world class event, and the decision to sell the events to Reed Exhibitions will enable us to continue doing so for the long term. We are very excited at the opportunity to continue working with Reed to bring the Mexican market what it deserves: "The best of the best," said Andrea Ferrando, Director of Marketing and Founder of ESM and MSE shows.

"We are truly excited about the addition of Expo Seguridad Mexico and Mexico Safety Expo into our global portfolio of ISC events," said Ed Several, senior vice president and general manager, ISC Events. "Together, we will leverage our mutual and combined strengths for this exciting and strategic opportunity to support Mexico's thriving security marketplace. We are well poised to help customers create an increased profile among international buyers and open new opportunities in this part of the world."

Over the years, significant advancements have been made in video coding standards — including H.263, MPEG formats, and H.264—alongside compression optimization technologies developed by IP video manufacturers to improve efficiency without sacrificing quality. The open-source AV1 codec developed by the Alliance for Open Media—a consortium including Google, Netflix, Microsoft, Amazon and others — is already the preferred decoder for cloud-based applications, and is quickly becoming the standard for video compression of all types.
