AMAG Technology's Symmetry Updates Integration with Latest Milestone VMS

AMAG Technology, an access control, IP video and intrusion detection solution provider, has collaborated with Milestone Systems to integrate the capabilities of AMAG's new Symmetry V7.0.1 Security Management System with Milestone XProtect Corporate 5, XProtect Enterprise 8 and XProtect Professional 8 video management software (VMS). End users and integrators will reap the benefits of an integrated system offering state-of-the-art functionality.

Video alarms from the XProtect VMS can be monitored via Symmetry V7.0.1. When an alarm occurs, XProtect will capture the video and stream it through Symmetry, allowing security officers to view activity and make quick decisions. Live and recorded video from any camera connected to the Milestone system can be displayed directly at any Symmetry SMS client, significantly expanding the range of video devices that can be used with Symmetry. Milestone motion and analytic events can be used to trigger actions in Symmetry, including camera call-up, matrix change, etc. Symmetry can tag Milestone recordings when events occur on either system. Symmetry can also control pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras that are managed by XProtect, and now provides digital zoom for Milestone-connected cameras as well.

"The Symmetry integration with XProtect delivers a powerful and feature-rich option for companies of any size needing advanced video surveillance and analytics solutions to protect their buildings, employees and assets," said AMAG Technology, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Matt Barnette. "AMAG is continually expanding the capabilities of our core product line, and our ongoing partnership with an industry leader like Milestone strengthens not only our video solution offerings but our overall security management platform."

Symmetry V7.0.1 is available in Business, Professional, Enterprise, Global and Homeland Security Editions. It supports integrated access control and intrusion, and the Javelin card reader family. Symmetry Video Management comes standard and it supports the new Visualizer range of encoders, as well as Milestone Systems and other VMS integrations. Symmetry utilizes the latest Windows operating systems and databases, incorporates the Microsoft Ribbon bar menu for usability, and leverages .NET architecture for maximum performance.

XProtect is comprehensive IP video management software. Easy to set up and manage, XProtect's powerful features such as system configuration wizards and auto-detection of hardware significantly reduce the time and cost of deploying large security installations. The consolidated single-management interface provides an efficient way to view and control an unlimited number of cameras and sites, giving supreme situational awareness for reliable, fast response and accurate investigations.

"This updated integration between AMAG and Milestone XProtect emphasizes Milestone's continued focus on working with our technology partners to provide customers the best choices for video surveillance plug-ins," stated Reinier Tuinzing, Strategic Alliances Manager, Milestone Systems. "This highlights the value adding benefits of an open platform VMS for ongoing improvements to security."
