SightLogix SightTracker Auto Steers Pelco PTZ Cameras

SightLogix Inc. recently announced that the SightTracker pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera controller has been integrated with Pelco Spectra and Esprit cameras to automatically zoom and follow detected targets. As a result of the integration, SightLogix and Pelco customers can now benefit from hands-free PTZ tracking to assess intrusions over outdoor areas and site perimeters.

"There are hundreds of thousands of PTZ cameras in use today that are too frequently looking in the wrong direction when a security violation occurs," said John Romanowich, SightLogix President and CEO. "The SightTracker ensures that PTZ cameras automatically stay on target, a critical requirement for outdoor security. We are pleased to add high-quality Pelco PTZs to our list of supported security cameras."

The SightTracker solves the challenge of an operator trying manually locate a target outdoors using a PTZ camera, which can be like finding a needle in a haystack. SightTracker automatically pans and zooms PTZ cameras to follow detected targets for greater detail without any human intervention. This also solves the latency problem of controlling PTZ cameras over a network or from distant locations. Detected targets are visually displayed on the customer's video management system with great detail while the target's location is presented on the SightMonitor map or a Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) system. The result is a comprehensive security solution that provides the "what and where" of an intrusion for making fast decisions while capturing the event for evidence.

"Pelco customers can now benefit from expanded user capabilities and enhanced situational awareness when securing outdoor critical infrastructure," said Dave deLisser, Director of Integration Business Development, Pelco by Schneider Electric. "Our collaboration with SightLogix provides security personnel new options for configuring intelligent video systems built around Pelco PTZ cameras."

SightLogix products include thermal and visible SightSensor perimeter intrusion detection sensors, SightTrackers that automatically steer PTZ/dome cameras and SightMonitor GPS target display software.
