Synectics Launches New COEX TriMode Camera Range

Synectics has launched a new range of Synectics Launches New COEX TriMode Camera RangeCOEX TriMode camera stations that offer three light-condition operating modes in one unit for greater operational flexibility and image clarity in all possible light conditions.

The supplier of advanced surveillance solutions to the global oil, gas and marine sectors, has designed the new low voltage, lightweight and compact units to be more adaptive to specific conditions by enabling seamless switching between color, mono and thermal imaging at the touch of a button.

This makes the TriMode ideal for protecting onshore or at-sea critical marine, and oil and gas assets - such as FPSOs, drilling stations/platforms, pipelines or LNG carriers - where weather, light conditions and overall visibility can fluctuate rapidly between extremes. Day or night, the technology means that exceptional image quality is guaranteed through smoke, solar glare, ice, mist, torrential rain, fog or even complete darkness.

The corrosion resistant COEX TriMode camera stations, suitable for IP or fiber applications, are ideal for both hazardous and operational areas.

Certified to international standards and tested to withstand shock, vibration and explosion impact, they also offer absolute positioning integration. This facility enables operators to capture high-quality images with accurate position data of approaching vehicles, vessels or human intruders up to 10km away, even in difficult visual conditions and - in the case of at-sea applications - irrespective of ship pitch.

Darren Alder, engineering director at Synectics, said, “As a leading manufacturer of end-to-end surveillance control systems, we continuously invest in the development of new technologies. From navigating through dense fog or detecting hazardous ice flow at-sea, through to monitoring environmental impact or identifying potential security/site safety threats onshore, the COEX TriMode guarantees dependable and meaningful image capture.”

The lightweight and durable camera stations, with continuous rotation pan and tilt capabilities and continuous zoom, feature a pre-heat mode for safe start-up in sub-zero conditions, but can also operate in temperatures up to +60°C. All models also incorporate a virtually indestructible gearbox with backlash eliminating technology to ensure smooth, proportional speed control.

The TriMode range is the latest addition to Synectics’ respected COEX C-range series of camera stations.
