Government Websites in Israel Hacked by Anonymous

After a period of quietness, it seems that the hacking/activist group known as “Anonymous,” who attacked Israel in the past, is back in full force in the wake of Israel’s recent bombings.

Government Websites in Israel Hacked by AnonymousClaiming to have digitally attacked Israel’s government websites for over a week, continually knocking them down and watching them come back online, Anonymous, known on Twitter as @AnonymousGlobo, calls this an act of protest against Israel’s treatment of Palestinians. This group also uses the hashtag “#FreePalestine” on Twitter in support of human rights for Palestinians.

It’s unknown if AnonymousGlobo has the same Anonymous members of the past, but this group is definitely having a strong online impact.

Affected websites to date include Israel’s intelligence agency and the Ministry of Justice.
