A Remarkable Two Days

I’ve seen and heard some remarkable things the past two days at ISC West 2018. It seems to me that manufacturers are this year offering more new products than the past few years, attendance at this tradeshow has to be a record-setting mark and privacy seems to be a big concern on people’s minds.

Arecont Vision brings their new Contera line of cameras. There are five models that include a 180 degree view, an outdoor dome, indoor dome, a bullet-style IP camera and the micro bullet. These solutions will offer integrators to be more competitive in pricing, with the same Arecont Vision quality.

China’s leading manufacturer, Dahua Technology has debuted its latest advancement, the new line of HDCVI 4.0 cameras. There are six cameras that offer a high over-coax resolution.

MONI Security Systems is now Brinks Home Security, and with this name, they become the No. 2 brand in the market; and they have been selling the NEST solutions since December. Jeffery Gardner, the president and CEO of Brinks Home Security says the customers love the solution, they are seeing a growth of 25 percent and expect to see an overwhelming dealer growth as well.

Allegion is talking cyber attacks, and their message is that they want to help integrators have a better understanding of cyber security so they can ask customers what they feel their needs might be and deploy that technology to the end user.

A more complete wrap-up of the past three days will appear in our final edition of the ISC West eNews in a week. Without a doubt, this was an extremely successful event. The tradeshow floor was filled to capacity, and every booth was busy from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. With appointments scheduled and traffic and deadlines to meet, yes, I did miss a couple of appointments, and I’m sorry about that. There is more to come, and with people committing to contribute to our monthly editorial schedule, I think you will be pleased to continue reading topics from the experts in the industry.

I hope all of you had a great experience in Las Vegas, and have made the connections you hoped for and were able to travel safely home.
