OnSSI Demonstrates its Latest Ocularis VMS Solutions at GSX 2018

OnSSI, an industry leader in Video Management Software (VMS) solutions, is publicly debuting the latest enhancements to its powerful Ocularis 5.6 VMS platform and new RecOn5 Pre-loaded NVRs and Servers here at GSX 2018 (booth #2263). The latest release of Ocularis 5.6 enhances overall VMS performance and operator functionality, delivers heightened system security with fortified dual authentication measures and provides enhanced mobile and web access capabilities. The company's RecOn5 Pre-loaded NVRs and Servers deliver unmatched performance, integration, ease of deployment and cost-efficiency for a myriad of applications.

"OnSSI's new portfolio of VMS solutions address end users' evolving physical security and business intelligence needs with enhanced functionality, system security and ease of deployment," said Ken LaMarca, VP of Sales and Marketing, OnSSI. "The unique combination of our Ocularis enterprise-level VMS solution with our RecOn5 Pre-loaded NVRs and Servers provides users with the highest levels of VMS performance, scalability and cost-efficiency."

OnSSI's recently released Ocularis 5.6 VMS allows administrators to require dual operator authentication when logging-in, along with the ability to specify system permissions for Ocularis Client or Ocularis Web/Mobile with detailed activity logs. Ocularis 5.6 allows operators to create, edit, save and delete views directly from Ocularis Client allowing them to create personalized system views. Improvements to Ocularis Client further enhance operator versatility by enabling them to view camera names from any number of views listed, allow larger views to be downscaled for improved bandwidth efficiency, and "Select All Feeds" and audio from a different source when exporting. Additionally, Ocularis 5.6 Master Core Redundancy (failover) support is now automated, so if the Master Core is unavailable when a user logs in, the user will still be able to access video via a Slave Core. A Smart Camera Driver for Vivotek cameras, extended support for H.265 and extended two-way audio support are also included with Ocularis 5.6.

Ocularis Mobile now includes the ability to display multiple cameras in Live Mode while also disabling the IOS idle timer to ensure continuous remote viewing. Additionally, Ocularis Media Server has been further improved with architectural enhancements that improve overall performance, scalability and reliability.

RecOn5 Pre-loaded NVRs and Servers, available in desktop models with 32 and 64 camera capacities and rackmount models with 32, 64 and 128 camera capacities, offer HDD choices of 8 to 40TB for desktop models, and 8 to 80TB for rackmount models with the proven reliability of Seagate® Skyhawk™ removable HDDs. Rackmount models offer optional RAID 5 data integrity and RAID 1 OS redundancy to assure server uptime.

RecOn5 NVRs provide an easy and cost-effective turnkey solution ideal for stand-alone single server solutions, including eight Ocularis NVR pre-loaded camera licenses with additional individual licenses available for purchase. Features include HTTPS and AES encryption; multi-streaming for bandwidth efficiencies; automatic recorder patch update service; Smart Camera Drivers; H.265/264; MJPEG and MPEG4 support; alarm and PTZ support; automatic HDD load balancing; Web and Mobile Client support; no device registration or MAC address requirements; and a one-year StayCURRENT upgrade plan included at no additional cost.

RecOn5 Servers provide fast and seamless integration with existing Ocularis systems. RecOn5 Servers support all features available in Ocularis Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate, allowing for easy expansion by simply purchasing the respective camera licenses needed for deployment on a certified OnSSI hardware solution.

OnSSI's Hardening Guide for Networked Video Surveillance Systems, which provides specific recommendations to help better protect video surveillance systems from cyber-attacks, is also being made available for free at www.onssi.com/documentation.
